Harold & Sue

Harold

1943 – 2026

Sue

1945 – 2026

Married thirty-three years at the Church in the Valley. Buried side by side at Fielding Memorial Park, twenty-three days apart. This is where their people put the stories.

Ririe, Idaho

Harold C. Sermon

Born December 13, 1943, in Rigby, to Frank Bush Sermon and Doris Sophia Christensen Sermon, and raised on a farm just outside Ririe. He went to school in Ririe and in Blackfoot, and afterward served in the United States Navy.

He spent his working life as a commercial painter in Ririe and was a member of the American Legion. What he did with the rest of it: old cars brought back from nothing, a guitar, singing, and horses. He died at home on July 11, 2026, at 82. The Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Navy Guard performed military honors at his burial.

Heise Hot Springs

Susan Quinn Sermon

Born June 23, 1945, in Idaho Falls, to Robert Quinn and Elsie Frey Quinn. She grew up at Heise Hot Springs — the pools, the river, the hill behind it — and graduated from Rigby High School.

She raised four sons and lived to know sixteen grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She died on August 3, 2026, at 81, in Idaho Falls, with her family around her. Twenty-three days after Harold.

The point of this page

You knew something about them nobody else did

A morning at the springs. A car in the driveway that took four years. Something he said on the phone that you never forgot. Write it down here, even if it’s three sentences. Three sentences is a lot more than nothing.
